Your work and your team's work
Joining a team, buying Team and sharing a project each do something different to the projects and knowledge you already have. This page says which is which.
Your personal work#
Every machine keeps your personal work: the projects you have not shared with a team, and your global knowledge. It is kept on each machine where you do it. It is not copied between your machines. Your global knowledge stays on your machine, even when a team's knowledge is hosted. See Projects for how your own projects work.
A Team or Enterprise seat comes with its own space for your personal work. When you activate the seat with the email you used for your trial or Personal license, it is the same space that license used, so what you built with it stays yours. Joining an existing team does not transfer your personal projects.
Buying Team is different. If you buy Team using your trial's email address, that trial becomes the team license. Its existing projects and project knowledge become the team's. toryo then offers to move that trial's global knowledge back to your personal work.
Team projects#
Where you work decides whose project it is. A checkout connected to a team project uses that project's team knowledge. Anything else is your personal work. There is no switch to flip. Knowledge your agents save while working on team projects belongs to the team.
Share a project to move its saved knowledge into the team. Sharing is one way: a shared project belongs to the team from then on. See Share a project with your team for the steps, and Team projects to connect a checkout to a project a teammate shared.
Leaving a team#
When your seat is revoked, or you leave a team, you lose access to that team's projects. Your personal projects and knowledge remain on your machine. You need a valid license to continue using toryo. See Several licenses on one machine.
